Part of the design team on the award-winning visitor center at Fløyen, one of Norway’s best-known and most visited tourist attractions.
The goal was to activate the area for city residents and attract tourists, serving as a natural stop on the mountain hiking trail.
-
The design focused on integrating with nature, offering restrooms and storage in a closed volume, a semi-open cafe, and a covered outdoor area. The rugged materials were chosen for durability against crowds and the elements, embodying the utility of the cabin in enhancing the overall hiking experience.

This strategy prioritized amenities such as wellness, dining, retail, event, and coworking spaces, with a strong emphasis on sustainability. The approach considered the evolving post-pandemic work paradigm and the new urbanization dynamics of the surrounding area.
